12Ga Western Field - Deluxe, Montgomery Ward & Co., Model 50, Pump Shotgun
Barrel: 30”, S/N- (NSN),
Stamping: 15736 D,
Stampings on Barrel: FULL & BROWNING Patent marked
Items of Note: Square notch cut out of the top of the machined receiver which the locking lug slips. Made up of mostly machined parts not stamped metal parts.
Condition: Needs a stock (it came out of the closet with tape wrapped on the stock). Some rusty spots. We are calling it a “Banged up Beauty”.
Research: Said to have – Browning Design with no disconnector system. No firing pin spring. Thought to be model 620 (slope receiver), the later version of the model 520 (humped back). Production years likely from the late 30's up into the 50's . Both models were produced in "trench gun" models used by the military in WWII era (and slightly earlier). Savage Stevens model 620. Stevens model 77 said to be nearly identical and many parts from a few other Stevens and Savage models are the same. Additional info was that Iver Johnson also made some Shotgun type for Sears Roebuck.
